Mark Olivari creates images that flow through him with an energy all their own. It is only after his creations are on a surface that he realizes the “why” and “how” his energy has materialized. Cymatics, the study of sound wave phenomena and its virtual representations, and Fibonacci, the garden ratio of sequences in nature, are the basics of much of Olivari’s work.
Born in Kobe, Japan to Argentine diplomatic parents, Mark Olivari spent the majority of his life in New Orleans after leaving Buenos Aires at the age of seven. Since 2006, he has been living and working in Western North Carolina with his wife Susan and daughter Isabella.
Through his non-profit effort, “Spreading Smiles Across the World”, he has derived much joy in sharing his black and white doodles with underprivileged children. So far he has traveled to Australia, Bolivia, Chile, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Nepal, Tanzania and many U.S. states.
